Plastic Materials

Plastic Materials

Plastic materials come in a variety of qualities and types. They are characterized by their direct forging and easy assembly, requiring no molds or additives (including water). Heating can be initiated immediately after assembly and requires no curing. Compared to cast products of the same thickness, the heating time is shorter. Fast-Heating plastics are available for each of these grades to meet specific needs. They are widely used in induction furnace lining repair; relining and repairing used linings of iron/steel/non-ferrous metal ladles and all metal contact parts (spouts, tundish, chutes, etc.); and applications such as electric arc furnace ferronickel taphole rapid block (ZRP). Phosphorus-Free Plastics (HRP) can be used in applications with very low or no phosphorus content.

Product Introduction

These different series of plastics are characterized by their suitability for direct patching/compression without the need for any additives (including water). Heating can be started immediately after installation, and there is no need for curing. Compared to castable plastics of the same thickness, the heating time is shorter. Fast-heating plastics are available when required. These are widely used in the repair and construction of metal contact linings (e.g., spouts, ladles, boilers, wash chutes, etc.); fast-heating blocks for ferronickel tapholes (ZRP) in electric arc furnaces. Phosphorus-Free Plastics (HRP) can be used in extremely low-phosphorus applications.
